Basic Skills 006CE is a FREE 0-unit/non-credit reading lab course that helps students expand their college-level reading comprehension and critical thinking skills and vocabulary. Students accomplish these skills, by working on and completing a customized reading program using a variety of online programs. 27 hours of completion are required by the end of the semester to receive credit.

This in-person course prepares students for High School Equivalency exams and college and career readiness with an emphasis on mastery of essential English usage, sentence mechanics, and structure. Writing assignments include journals, paragraph-writing, and peer-editing. This course can be paired with Basic Skills 208CE: Reading Skills I.
