FALL 2018 FLEX WORKSHOP: A LEARNING COMMUNITY FOR LA HARBOR COLLEGE
A STEM STEP objective is to support STEM students through a Learning Community. On August 21st and August 22nd, STEM STEP presented the flex workshop: A Learning Community for LA Harbor College facilitated by statewide technical assistance provider Career Ladders Project . The workshop focused on ways in which LA Harbor faculty, staff, peer mentors and administrators can serve as agents of support within the new learning community model. Great discussions ensued amongst attendees which included input toward the schedule of activities for first and second/third year STEM students through the learning community.

SPRING 2018 FLEX WORKSHOP: STEM SUCCESS, TRANSFER, & EQUITY PROGRAM
In 2016, LAHC was awarded a $6 million Title III grant that will last five years (until September 30, 2021). This workshop provides an overview of the STEM STEP Grant, STEM activities, STEM student success stories, learning communities and an overview of contextualized teaching and learning.
