Welcome to Special Programs and Services (SPS)
Disabled Students Programs and Services

Empowering and Inspiring Students

Special Programs and Services was established in 1976 and provide a wide range of support services to over 900 students with disabilities. Many of our support services are unique to our department and not provided by other departments on campus. Our friendly and helpful staff create a warm welcoming environment.

Our Mission

Special Programs and Services (SP&S) and the Academic Success Action Plan (TRIO project) are programs that are designed to ensure that students with disabilities have equal access to all of the educational offerings at Los Angeles Harbor College. The programs facilitate equal opportunity through the provision of appropriate support services, curriculum, instruction, and adaptive technology.

College Mission

Los Angeles Harbor College promotes access and student success through associate and transfer degrees, certificates, economic and workforce development, and basic skills instruction. Our educational programs and support services meet the needs of diverse communities as measured by campus institutional learning outcomes.
