​​There are many scholarships intended specifically for military veterans, their spouses, and their dependents. Below you will find a list with a link to a few that we have found! This list is not all inclusive nor is it an endorsement or partership between any of the organizations listed and the college.

  • Must not be in default on a federal student loan

  • Must agree to authorize AMVETS to publicize your scholarship award, if you are selected

The Dr. Aurelio M. Caccomo Family Foundation Memorial Scholarship​​Veterans, active duty, guard/reserve
  • Must be a United States Citizen
  • Must provide evidence of active duty status or veteran status having served honorably
  • Must demonstrate financial need
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED*
  • Must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment to an eligible program
  • Must not be in default on a federal student loan
  • Must not be convicted under state or federal law for sale of or possession of illegal drugs
  • Must agree to authorize AMVETS to publicize your scholarship award, if you are selected​

AFCEA War Veterans Scholarship
  • Persons on active duty in the uniformed military services
  • Honorably discharged U.S. military veterans (including Reservists and National Guard personnel)​
  • U.S. citizen currently enrolled and attending a four-year accredited college or university in the United States as a sophomores or juniors at the time of application.  Freshman and senior level students are ineligible to apply.  You cannot apply the year you are graduating.
     
  • Enrolled part time or full time in an eligible undergraduate degree program.
     
  • An overall 3.0 GPA is required.
     
  • Candidates must be majoring in the following C4I-related fields related to the mission of AFCEA: Biometry/Biometrics, Computer Engineering, Computer Forensics Science, Computer Programming, Computer Science, Computer Systems, Cybersecurity, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Geospatial Science, Information Science, Information Technology, Information Resource Management, Intelligence, Mathematics, Network Engineering, Network Security, Operations, Research, Physics, Robotics Engineering, Robotics Technology, Statistics, Strategic Intelligence, and Telecommunications Engineering
     
  • Served in Overseas Contigency Operations (from 2003 to present) - provide DD214 or Certificate of Service. Paperwork must verify deployment. Remove SSN.

Ankin Law Office 2019 Scholarship for Military Veterans ​This scholarship is open to military veterans of the United States Armed Forces and immediate family members (parents, children) who will be enrolled full-time in fall 2019 in an accredited community college or university (undergraduate or graduate), earning credits toward a degree (associate, baccalaureate, or graduate).  Trade or vocational programs will also qualify.
  • ​Write an essay of 1,000 words or less on the topic below and publish it on your blog.
  • The winner must provide proof of military service or if a family member, proof of the relationship to the veteran and proof of military service. If not active, the military member must have been discharged honorably.
  • The winner consents to the use of his or her picture and other basic information on the winner page of the Ankin Law Office website.

​ The VFW's "Sport Clips Help A Hero Scholarship"
  • Be a citizen of the United States.
  • Be retired, honorably discharged, active duty, or a member of the National Guard or Reserve.
  • Have completed Basic Training and follow-on training (Advanced Individual Training, technical school, etc.).
  • Separated with or currently hold a military rank of E-5 or below.
  • Demonstrate a need for financial assistance.
  • Participate in, be accepted to or currently enrolled in a VA-approved program or school at an accredited post-secondary institution.
  • Be a citizen of the United States.
  • Be retired, honorably discharged, active duty, or a member of the National Guard or Reserve.
  • Have completed Basic Training and follow-on training (Advanced Individual Training, technical school, etc.).
  • Separated with or currently hold a military rank of E-5 or below.
  • Demonstrate a need for financial assistance.
  • Participate in, be accepted to or currently enrolled in a VA-approved program or school at an accredited post-secondary institution.

Army Women's Foundation Community College and Certificate Program Legacy Scholarship​
  • Commander's verification of active duty or qualified documentation of the sponsor or woman's service (e.g. Dept. of Defense Form DD-214, Discharge Documents, Active Service Documents, etc.)
  • An official transcript from their college or university is required. For new applicants to a community college, high school transcripts or GED documentation must accompany the application.
  • Two letters of recommendation (on letterhead for reference letters) with titles and contact information are also required. One letter of recommendation MUST be from a school advisor, counselor, dean of students, professor, etc. Letters of recommendation should demonstrate why a Legacy Scholarship should be awarded to the specific student.
  • The application requires a short essay (2 pages or less, typed, double-spaced) highlighting why the recipient should be considered for this scholarship. The essay must address future plans as related to the applicant's selected program of study and must include pertinent information in assessing an applicant's other areas to include community service, activities, and work experience. The applicant must also address specifically how the Army has impacted their life and/or goals.
  • All materials must be labeled with applicant's name and postmarked by the deadline for consideration and selection.
